I was mindlessly searching through the TV Guide for something to pass the time by, and found an old favorite: The Adjustment Bureau, with Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Anthony Mackie, John Slattery, and Terence Stamp.
Leave it to Phillip K. Dick to write another great sci-fi yarn, this time, about how one man sees into God’s control of certain aspects of people’s lives.
We enter the world of Brooklyn Congressman, David Norris, as he is about to concede defeat in a senate race, meeting a mesmerizing stranger, Elise Sellas seemingly by chance.
The bulk of the film deals with David discovering that the world is secretly run by adjusters who in his case are keeping him from Elise. He and Elise go through a series of sequences wherein they are pursued by the adjusters, trying to keep them from rewriting history.
I won’t say more than that to avoid spoiling the film. I hope you get to see this movie, and that you enjoy it as much as I do.
