Sometimes there is not enough. Enough what? you may ask; enough of each right thing to prevent pursuit of wrong things.
The Bible says in the book of Proverbs that distribution of blessings is key:
Proverbs 30:7-9 KJV
Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die: Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: Lest I be full, and deny thee , and say, Who is the Lord ? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain .
So needing more (or less) of something is really important. When our needs are not met we may descend into addictive behavior to offset that void. If we are getting too much of a good thing, we may become overweight, arrogant, or have another unhelpful outcome.
Be intentional to live your life in a way that your needs may be met legitimately, insofar as you can influence that. It is not always easy to do, and others may not cooperate, but if you do your part, you may have better success.
